Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about ADHD assessments and care.

Assessment & Diagnosis

How long does an ADHD assessment take?

Assessment length depends on the appointment type. You will be told what to expect when you book, and we never rush the process.

Who carries out the assessment?

Assessments are led by experienced, GMC-registered doctors with experience in ADHD.

Medication

Will I be prescribed medication?

Medication is only considered where it is clinically appropriate, and it is always discussed with you separately following your assessment.

Is medication monitored?

Yes. Where medication is appropriate, it is approached carefully and in a structured way, with the right monitoring in place.

GP & Shared Care

Can my GP take over my prescription?

Shared care with your GP is not guaranteed and remains at your GP's discretion. We provide a clear report to support that conversation.

Will you communicate with my GP?

With your consent, we provide structured reports that support clear communication with your GP.

Children & Families

Do you assess children?

Yes. We provide careful assessments for children and young people, including parent interviews and developmental history.

Do parents need to be involved?

Parent or carer input is an important part of a child's assessment and helps build the full picture.

Work & Education

Can a report support workplace adjustments?

Our reports are written to be useful for employers and education providers when considering reasonable adjustments.

Can you support university students?

Yes. We can provide reports that support applications for education-related support.
