Meet the Founders

Experienced UK clinicians who built ADHD Clinical UK around compassion, clarity and continuity.

Dr Sobia Rafiq

Dr Sobia Rafiq

Co-Founder & Medical Director

Dr Sobia Rafiq is a UK-trained doctor with over 15 years of clinical experience across the NHS and private healthcare, with a particular interest in ADHD assessment and patient-centred care.

Throughout her career, she has seen the significant impact that delayed recognition of ADHD can have on adults, children and families. Her approach focuses on careful clinical assessment, clear communication and understanding the individual behind the symptoms.

With lived family experience of ADHD, Dr Sobia understands the importance of providing care that feels supportive, respectful and clinically grounded. She co-founded ADHD Clinical UK to help create a service that combines medical professionalism with warmth, compassion and continuity of care.

As Medical Director, she oversees the clinical quality and safety of the service, ensuring assessments are structured, evidence-based and aligned with recognised clinical standards.

Z

Zalkernane Luqman

Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Zalkernane is a senior healthcare executive with over 20 years of leadership experience across the NHS, the UK and the Middle East, spanning strategy, operations, finance and large-scale service transformation. He has led complex regional healthcare programmes across multiple sites, delivering multimillion-pound improvements in access, quality and patient experience.

What matters most to him, however, is personal. With lived family experience of ADHD, Zalkernane understands that behind every enquiry is a parent, adult or family looking for clarity, reassurance and genuine support, not simply a clinical process.

Together with Dr Sobia Rafiq, he co-founded ADHD Clinical UK to create a service that is clinically credible, deeply human and professionally run.

As CEO, he leads the strategy, operations and growth of the clinic, ensuring every interaction reflects the values it was built on: trust, compassion and high-quality care.

What Our Patients Say

Real, anonymous feedback from patients who consented to share their experience.

We were quite apprehensive going into the assessment but were quickly put at ease by the professionalism of the assessor. Every step was explained clearly and in a way that both my daughter and I could understand — a stress-free experience from start to finish.
